Train Accident Kills Group Home Resident

A 48 year old pedestrian was the victim in Washtenaw County Train Accident Death in Ypsilanti Township.  Police authorities believe that  the man wandered away from his group home onto to some train tracks and was struck by a train, killing him.

This is an absolutely tragic accident and I am very sorry to hear that this happened. My heart goes out to the family of the man for their loss.

I will be very interested as to how this accident investigation unfolds because it is important to know how and why this man was able to wander away from his home.  In many circumstances, group home residents must be under close supervision so that they do not wander away or leave the home.  The failure to properly supervise and monitor a group home resident can give rise to a Michigan lawsuit, especially when significant harm occurs as a result.  In cases involving death, family members can often file a Michigan Wrongful Death Lawsuit.

There are strict time deadlines for filing these types of claims and the failure to file them in a timely manner can destroy your case.  For more information about your rights after a Michigan accident, you should request our FREE book, “The Ultimate Guide to Injury Cases in Michigan” by clicking on the book link.  We will send it out immediately along with other important information
