ORV Accident In Michigan Injures Three Teens

There was a story in the news today about three teens injured in a Masonville Township Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) accident. The ORV was being driven by a 13 year old girl when she lost control and hit a tree. There were two other teenage passengers in the ORV while she was driving. All three girls were injured and were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident. The two passengers were transported to the St. Francis Hospital while the driver was taken to Marquette General for observation.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident and wish a speedy recovery to the three teenage girls injured.

Fatal Kalkaska County Off-Road Vehicle Accident

I read an tragic story in today’s news about a Fatal Kalkaska County Off-Road Vehicle Accident in Orange Township on July 18th. According to the Michigan State Police, the accident happened when the driver of a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 4-wheeler allegedly lost control of the off-road vehicle while on East Trail near Antler Road.

While the off-road vehicle is designed for one person, two other people were riding on it. State Police say that all three riders, none of whom were wearing helmets, were thrown from the vehicle. Two of the riders were taken to Munson Medical Center with serious injuries. One of the riders was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. State Police believe alcohol was a factor in this terrible accident and continue to investigate.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident. My most heart-felt condolences to the family of the deceased rider and I wish the fullest and speediest recovery to the surviving riders.
