Pit Bulls Attack Woman In Westland, Michigan
Our Michigan personal injury lawyers are reporting a story in the paper today about a Westland dog bite attack that left one woman injured on Sunday night. The dog attack was a pit bull dog attack. According to police, a woman was walking down Dorsey Street near Venoy when she was chased by two pit bulls. The pit bulls attacked the woman and bit her arm. She suffered serious dog bite injuries to her arm and stitches were required to save her arm. Police say they know who the dogs belong to.
I am very sorry to hear about this accident and hope the injured woman has a fast recovery.
Victims of dog bite injuries and attacks in Michigan do have legal rights. Owners and keepers of dogs in Michigan are strictly liable for dog bites and attacks. This means that the dog bite victim does not have to prove that the owner was negligent, only that he or she was bitten or attacked by the dog. There are also strict Michigan leash laws and Westland dog bite laws that hold the dog owner liable if their unleashed dog bites or attacks an innocent person.
