MSU Food Poisoning at Shaw Hall Suspected
Michigan State University is investigating the cause that left thirty MSU students at Shaw Hall sick on Wednesday. The students had symptoms consistent with food poisoning, such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Many sought treatment at Sparrow Hospital for their sickness.
Although the cause has not yet been determined, this does sound similar to recent food poisoning cases handled by our firm for the Norovirus. This can be transmitted through a sick kitchen worker who comes into contact with food that is served to diners. Althought most people recover within a few days, others require hospitalization. Anyone sickened at this outbreak should contact our office as we have obtained settlements in similar cases for food poisoning victims.
