Michigan Car Accident Lawyers: Ann Arbor, Flint, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Detroit

You have all seen the television ads for years and the phone books are full of two lawyer page ads for lawyers trying to get Michigan car accident cases.  While many of the lawyers are knowledgable and do a fine job for the clients, most people simply do not know if they are getting the best lawyer for their case.  A huge mistake many car accident victims make is calling their divorce lawyer or former bankruptcy and signing up with them to handle their case.  The days of the general practice lawyer are over due to the complexities in all areas of law nowadays.

The Michigan N0-Fault Insurance laws are so complex that only lawyers who specialize in car accident cases should be handling them, just as a car accident attorney should probably not be handling a complex divorce case.  How do you choose the right lawyer for your Michigan car accident case?  Well, the best thing to do is to research your lawyer just like you would a doctor and know the right questions to ask the lawyer before hiring him or her for your case.  With any type of injury case, I would suggest that you get honest and direct answers to the eight questions, which I list as “Questions To Ask Before You Hire Your Michigan Injury Lawyer” that I have on our firm website.  An attorney who cannot provide satisfactory answers to these questions is probably not the best lawyer for your case.

Many people believe that it is important to hire a local lawyer for their case, regardless of the expertise of that lawyer in handling Michigan car accident cases.  While many local lawyers may have that expertise, other lawyers have a statewide reputation for handling auto accident cases and may be better suited to represent you, even if your accident occurred in Ann Arbor, Lansing, Flint, and even Grand Rapids.  The no-fault insurance laws apply to every accident in Michigan, regardless of where the accident occurred in the state, and hiring the best lawyer is probably the most important decision you will make on your case.
