Kent County Bicycle Accident Fatality
A 55 Year-old Grand Rapids bicyclist was tragically killed in a Kent County Bicycle Accident on May 20th. The man was riding his bicycle when he was allegedly struck by City of Grand Rapids dump truck. Witnesses allege that the cyclist was dragged for some way by the truck. According to one witness, he spoke a few words before the paramedics arrived but the paramedics were too late and he died at the scene.
I am very sorry hear that this accident happened. My condolences to the family of the bicyclist for their loss. These types of accidents become all too common when the weather warms up and Michiganders go out jogging and biking to enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately, motorists often disregard their rights and cause catastrophic accidents.
Michigan car accident victims have a number of legal rights. For this type of accident, family members may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services. Furthermore, family members of the bicyclist may have a claim for wrongful death against City of Grand Rapids if the investigation shows that the truck driver was negligent. At the very least, the surviving family should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.
An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer can assist the victim with this type of claim. Accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.

It is great that people are thinking about the environment and working to make the world a safer place. Not only the materials that you are using on your home are safe for the environment but dump trucks have come a long way since the earlier models. We are learning and expanding and coming up with a wide range of safer more effective vehicles for the work force. I think it is great that many auto manufacturers are turning to hybrid vehicles to protect the environment and now they are even using hybrid dump trucks.
