Utah E. Coli Lawsuit Filed

There was a story in the news today about a Utah E. coli lawsuit filed on January 21st in Salt Lake City. According to the article, a Davis County boy was sickened with E. coli, along with 21 other people in 16 states. The boy suffered from severe e. coli symptoms after eating some meat that had been allegedly recalled by National Steak and Poultry, an Oklahoma corporation. The child was taken to Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful where he was diagnosed with gastroinstestinal bleeding and was hospitalized for two days. The outbreak allegedly affected people in Utah, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and 12 other states. Most people fell ill between mid October and late November and nine were hospitalized. The lawsuit names National Steak and Poultry as the defendant.

Fatal Greenland Township Snowmobile Accident

There was a tragic story in the paper today about a man killed in a fatal Greenland Township snowmobile accident on January 20th in Ontonagon County. According to the Michigan State Police, an Indiana man was sledding with a party of 12 when he allegedly came across an unplowed driveway, failed to negotiate the uneven trail and was thrown from the snowmobile. He was then hit by another snowmobiler in the party. The man was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital where he died from his serious injuries.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident and wish the family of the deceased man my most sincerest condolences on their loss.

There was a story in the paper today about two people seriously injured in an Alto snowmobiling accident on January 10th near Lowell Township in Kent County. According to the police, two people were riding on a snowmobile when it allegedly struck a fence along Timpson Ave near 52nd Street. Both riders were seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. Police are still investigating this accident and believe alcohol may have been a factor.

South Haven Snowmobile Accident

There was the story in the paper today about a woman injured in a South Haven Snowmobile accident on January 5th in Van Buren County. According to the Van Burn County Sheriff’s Office, a 21-year-old woman was riding her snowmobile on 14th Avenue, between Blue Star Highway and M-140, when she was allegedly rear-ended by another snowmobile. She suffered minor injuries when she was thrown from her snowmobile and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are still investigating this accident.

Montrose Township Pedestrian School Bus Accident

According to police, two elderly women were crossing north on State street near the intersection of Saginaw when they were allegedly struck by a school bus. One woman was said to have a closed head injury. The women were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their serious injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.
