Detroit Car Accident

A Detroit car accident has left three people dead and another critically injured.  The accident occurred on February 23, 2009 when a Volkswagon crossed the center line on Livernois near Federal and struck an oncoming SUV.  The driver of the SUV is in critical condition while the three men in the Volkswagon passed away.  Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.

I am very sorry this accident occurred.  I hope that the driver of the SUV pulls through and experiences a full recovery.  I also want to express my sympathies to the families of the men that were killed in this accident.

Everyone involved in this accident has the right to file a claim for No Fault insurance through their car insurance, even if the driver who caused the accident was, in fact, drunk.  No Fault benefits will cover all the woman’s medical expenses, while the families of the deceased men can file claims for survivor loss benefits.

In addition to their No Fault claim, everyone except the driver that caused the accident may be able to file a lawsuit against that driver.  If it turns out he was drunk, they may be able to file a dram shop claim against the bar or restaurant that served him alcohol.  An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer could file these lawsuits for them.
