Chesterfield Township Car Accident Fatality
A female Anchor Bay High School student was killed in a Chesterfield Township Car Accident on Monday, May 25th. According to police, the teen was driving on 23 Mile Road when a SUV allegedly struck her vehicle after pulling out of a local restaurants parking lot. Police believe that the SUV driver misjudged the distance she had and the teen could not stop in time to avoid hitting the SUV.
I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident. I offer my condolences to the family of the student for their loss.
Michigan car accident victims have a number of legal rights. For this type of accident, the family members may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services.
Furthermore, the family members may have a claim for wrongful death against the driver of the SUV. At the very least, the surviving family should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case.
Accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.
