Our Michigan auto accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of Michigan accident, the family members of the deceased victim may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services.

Also, the family members of the deceased may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver if found and if police determine was negligent.  At the very least, the family members should contact a lawyer to find out their legal rights.

Our Michigan car accident attorneys advise victims of their legal rights. Police determined the driver of the vehicle was not at fault at the accident, however, the injured boy can still submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover their medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured person can claim these benefits even if they did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy and even if they are determined to be at fault.

Club Monte Carlo Food Poisoning in Shelby Township

Approximately one hundred diners at the Club Monte Carlo Banquet Hall in Shelby Township, Michigan became ill last week.  The Macomb County Health Department is investigating  a possible food poisoning outbreak  made by patrons who attended weddings at the banquet hall.  Many patrons experienced serious illness shortly after the event.

The source of the illness has not yet been determined but this does sound like a norovirus outbreak.   This often happens when a sick employee is involved in food preparation and diners who eat the food become very ill.  Others who attend the event can also become ill based upon subsequent contact with a norovirus victim.

My firm is currently handling a lawsuit against  a local banquet hall with virtually the same facts.  A significant number of wedding guests and banquet visitors experienced illness shortly after the event.  Many suffered at home for days, unable to even leave their homes to get medical attention, while others went to local hospitals and clinics.

Victims of food poisoning do have legal rights and should contact a Michigan food poisoning lawyer to discuss their rights and legal options.

Dearborn Heights Pit Bull Dog Attack

Our Michigan personal injury lawyers are reporting a story in the paper recently about a Dearborn Heights dog attack. The dog attack was a pit bull attack. According to police, a pit bull was attacking a girl when a man walking down the street saw the attack and intervened. Both the girl and the man suffer dog bite injuries including scratches. The girl who was attacked by the pit bull is a family friend of the pit bull’s owner, Laura Langston. Langston failed to shut the gate of her backyard and that is how the dog got out.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident and hope both injured victims have a fast recovery.

Victims of dog bite injuries and attacks in Michigan do have legal rights. Owners and keepers of dogs in Michigan are strictly liable for dog bites and attacks. This means that the dog bite victim does not have to prove that the owner was negligent, only that he or she was bitten or attacked by the dog. There are also strict Michigan dog bite laws that hold the dog owner liable if their unleashed dog bites or attacks an innocent person.
